<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible">Define the settings for one of the three subtotal groups. All subtotal tabpages have the same structure.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">To insert subtotals for a table, proceed as follows:</p>

<p class="P2">First select the table or the area in the table for which the subtotals are to be calculated.</p>

<p class="P2">Then you can select the column of your table in the <span class="T1">Group By</span> list box. A change in value here automatically results in a calculation of subtotals.</p>

<p class="P2">Now from the check box in the <span class="T1">Calculate subtotals for</span> area again select one or more columns for which the subtotal is to be calculated using a function selected from the <span class="T1">Use function</span> list box.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Select the column which will control the the subtotal calculation process. If the contents of the selected column change, the calculation of a subtotal will be automatically started.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Choose the selected columns in the sheet which contain the values you want to calculate.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Choose the mathematical function to be used for the calculation of subtotals.</help:help-text></p>
